"Cute As A Button!" CTVS Challenge #28 Project # 2

Hello my crafty friends!  If you are looking for my first "Cute As A Button!" project CLICK HERE  My SIL is currently in the hospital because she had to have her heart operated on this last Wednesday.  We have all been praying for her. She is out of the SICU and in a regular room.  Great news!  I decided to make a card for her.  I'm not sure what kind of card this is.  I've had these directions for a while but hadn't used them.

The "I'm praying for you" and "Wishing you a speedy recovery!" sentiments are from the Cardz TV Stamps set "Heartfelt Wishes."  The "God bless you!" sentiment is from the "Encouraging Thoughts."  The papers are from a 6 x 6 paper stack from American Crafts called My Girl.  I used a 3 inch scallop punch for the large scallop, a 2 1/4 circle punch for the patterned paper, and a 2 inch scallop punch for the sentiment mat.  I used my favorite EK Success corner punch on the outside.   For the white mat on the inside flap, I used a Sizzix folder.  On the inner flap, I used an EK Success punch called Chines Knots.  I used a flower punch from my stash to make the flower and a button from my stash.

I hope you've started a project to enter into our challenge!  Hope you are having a great weekend where you are.  Thanks for stopping by and I would really love to hear from you!

Lots of Hugs,

Thank You So Much!

Hello my crafty friends!  I wanted to share a card that I made for a very dear friend of mine.  I recently purchased a box of pre-folded cards from Bennion Crafts. (local craft store)  They are from a DCWV box that come pre-folded, and have a coordinating color on the back.  They also come with envelopes.  For the sentiment I used the Cardz TV Stamps set "Heartfelt Wishes."  This set has a lot of beautiful sentiments to use for many types of cards to let someone you are thinking of them.

I had recently purchased a Spellbinders set called Folliage.  I punched some out and embossed them with the Script Cuttlebug folder.  I took a small paper doily and sponged it with Tim Holtz Tea Dye Distressed ink.  I used an EK Success corner punch and added some pearls.  For the sentiment mats I used the Spellbinders set Labels Four set.  Well I hope you like this card.  I would really love to hear from you.  I'm off to make some sympathy cards because my mom's aunt died yesterday.  I will share when I am through.

Lots of Hugs,

Do Not Open Until Christmas

Hello my crafty friends!  Are you ready for tomorrow?  I can't believe how they time has flown!  I think I'm ready.  So much running around shopping, wrapping, cleaning for our family party.  I have a niece who is due in February.  She was in the hospital Saturday and thought the baby would be coming.  Thankfully little Bella didn't arrive yet.  She is bound and determined to come early.

Anyway, on to the card.  This is a 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 card base.  The stamp is from the Cardz TV Stamps set "Christmas Joy."  The paper came from a Recollections paper pack.  I used Elegant Edges for the mats and ran it through the Cuttlebug.  It was cut out at 3 3/4 inches.  Elmo came from the Elmo and Friends Holiday cartridge.  He was cut at 3 /12 inches.  I used my favorite EK Success corner punch.

Thank you so much for stopping by!  I hope you are getting everything done that you need to.  Let us not forget the reason for the season.  And please say an extra prayer for the families of the children in Connecticut.  My heart aches for them.

Hello my crafty friends!  Welcome to the Cardz TV "Fall-o-ween" Challenge!  Mary gave us a challenge to create a card, layout or other project for Fall or Halloween.  I just love Fall, especially here in Utah with the mountains so close.  When I look out our kitchen window you can see the beautiful orange, yellow and red leaves.

This card is 4 1/4 x 5 1/2.  I used brown Bazzill cardstock.  The patterned mat is from DCWV.  For my sentiment, I used the Cardz TV Stamps set "Fall Fun."  This is a cute little set.   I used an EK Success for the brown sentiment mat, and a McGill punch for the cream colored sentiment mat.  The adorable little Teddy Bear came from the Teddy Bear Parade cartridge.  I just really love this cartridge!  He was cut at 3 1/4 inches as well as his clothes.  The denim patterned paper, the blue checkered paper, and the burlap paper came from Joann's.  I used a leaf punch that I've had for many years for the leaves.  I really like how this turned out.  What do you think?

The Witching Hour

Hello my friends!  I hope you all are having a wonderful fall day!  I've had the idea for this card ever since Mary over at Cardz TV came out with the Cardz TV Stamp set, "More Spooky Sayings."  I found this patterned paper at Bennion Crafts made by Graphic 45.  I knew just what I wanted to use it for.  When my daughter was a baby, at a certain hour at night she used to get really fussy.  My aunt used to call it "the witching hour."  I'm glad she out grew that!

I hadn't made a tall card in a long time, so I decided it was time.  I wanted to make a tall card so you could see more of the clocks.  It measures 3 3/4 x 9 1/4.  The green mat measures 3 1/2 x 9.  The orange mat measures 3 1/4 x 8 3/4.  The patterned paper measures 3 x 8 1/2.  The cute little witch came from a K & Co. embellishment package.  I put little foam squares on the back of her to add dimension.  The corner punch is from EK Success.

I hope you have had a chance to enter the Cardz TV Design Team Challenge "Boo's & Buttons."  You have until noon EST Thursday, October 11th to enter the Challenge.  Mary is giving away a set of her stamps to the winner!  Winner's choice!  All you have to do is create a card, layout, or other craft project for Halloween and use buttons.  Just remember to enter your project into Mr. Linky along with a picture on Mary's blog.  She will be announcing the winner on Friday, October 12th.

I hope you like this card.  Thanks so much for stopping by!  I would really love to hear from you!

Cardz TV Stamps Design Team Challenge 15 "Bling It Up!" Day Two

Welcome back to day 2 of the Cardz TV Design Team Challenge #15 "Bling It Up!"  I hope you've had a chance to check out the other talented ladies on the Design Team.  For my second project, my Mom had asked me to make a card for a co-worker who sadly has breast cancer.  Next month she is going to have a Mastectomy, possibly double.  I pray she doesn't have to.

This card base is 4 1/4 x 5 1/2.  For the sentiment, I used the Cardz TV Stamps "Encouraging Thoughts."  The pink ribbon bling came from Michaels.  They had a small section with breast cancer awareness items.  The other bling came from Recollections.  The patterned paper is from a Recollections stack.  The corner punch is from EK Success, and for the border I used a Stampin' Up! border punch.  For the ivory sentiment tag, I used a McGill punch, and for the black tag I used a EK Success punch.

I hope you've had a chance to start a card, layout or other craft project to enter the Challenge!  Remember, you have until Midnight Thursday, September 27th to enter a picture and a link to your blog.  Mary is giving away a set of Cardz TV Stamps to the winner!

Welcome to the Cardz TV Stamps "Brew Ha Ha" Blog Hop!  If you came here from Rachelle's Blog you are headed in the right direction.   I'm so excited for this Hop because Mary over at Cardz TV decided to do a coffee and tea stamp set and let our design team brainstorm ideas for the set.  We had so much fun doing this!  I just love this set!  Mary asked us to make a card, craft, or layout using this special edition set.  I was all over it!  I've had the card I made in mind ever since we finalized the set.

This card is a 6 x 6 card and I used Bazzill cardstock.  The patterned paper came from a 6 x 6 mat stack I found at Bennion Crafts and is from Bo Bunny.  The little teacups and creamer came from Bo Bunny as well and are on foam tape.  For the tray, I used an oval from Spellbinders.  I used to circle punches to make the handles.  I ran the ivory cardstock through the Cuttlebug using the Kassie's Brocade folder, then used Memento ink on top.    For the corners, I used an EK Success corner punch I found at Bennion Crafts.  It punches out the two pieces.  I used some pearls from Recollections on top.  For the sentiment, I used punches from EK Success and McGill.

Who's ready for some blog candy????  Mary is giving away 2 sets of Cardz TV Stamps!  All you have to do is leave a comment on Mary's blog.  She will be announcing the winner on Monday, September 3rd.  AND, I have blog candy as well!  I'm giving away a

Sweet Birthday Card

For our family, August and September are loaded with birthdays.  I made this card for someone's birthday this month.  I decided to make an easel card since I haven't made one in a while.  I found the patterned paper at Michaels.  It's two-sided.  The little cupcake came from Michaels and is from Recollections.  I decided to put an action wobble on the back of the cupcake.  I used the  Cardz TV Stamp set "Make A Wish" for all of the sentiments.   On the sides of the cupcake I used two balloon brads.  On the corners I used my favorite EK Success corner punch and added some bling.  For the SWEET! sentiment I placed a toothpick behind it.  I embossed the pink paper on the bottom with a Sizzix birthday set.  For the white mat, I used a Spellbinder's die.  The ink is from Memento and is called Rose Bud.

Well I hope you all are having a wonderful week!  Thanks so much for stopping by!  I would love to hear from you.

Gift Bag/Purse

Hello my friends!  As I posted yesterday, I had finished a project before we left Thursday before my daughter's pageant.  I was so busy packing and running around, I wasn't able to post it before we left.  So here it is.  I found  a youtube tutorial and had to try it.  You could put all kinds of goodies inside, even a cupcake or a card and a small gift.   I altered the measurements because the dimensions given in the tutorial didn't work for the size of bag I have.  The sentiment came from the Cardz TV Stamp set "Garden Greetings."

The white panel on the front of the bag was cut at 4 7/8 x 6 1/4.  You need to make two, one for the front and one for the back.  The front flap white cardstock was cut at 2 x 4 7/8.  The patterned paper was cut at     1 3/4 x 4 5/8.   The paper came from a Recollections stack from Michaels.   For the strawberries on the front, I used the Hello Kitty cartridge.  The two on top were cut out at 1 1/4, the two on either side of the large one were cut at 1 1/2, and the large one in the middle was cut at 1 3/4.   I used my favorite EK Success corner punch.  I used small Velcro dots for closure.  I punched holes and put ribbon for the handle.

Thanks so much for stopping by, I would really love to hear from you!

Lots of Hugs,
Laura

Notebook

The Queen is going to be needing another craft recipe book, so I decided to make a jazzed up one.  At my local craft store Bennion Crafts I found these note books for $1.00.  I thought it was a great deal.  So I picked up a few.  They also have paper packs with patterned paper for only $1.99 by Nicole Crafts.  Needless to say I have bought several different packs.  I ran the white cardstock through the Cuttlebug using the Kassie's Brocade folder.  I found the little stamp at Bennion Crafts.  It was only .99.  It has the Keep Calm and-- then you can interchange 6 different sayings that go with it.  1. Knit, 2. Draw, 3. Sew, 4. Paint, 5. Craft 6. Carry and then the On stamp.  I used EK Success punches for the flourishes and the corners.  I used bling from my stash.

Thanks so much for stopping by and I would really love to hear from you!

Mother's Day Card

Hello my friends!  Here is a Mother's Day card I made for a wonderful friend of mine.  This is a Gate Fold card.  I just love this paper.  I bought it at a local craft store called Bennion Crafts.  I just love this store!  The only bad thing is that it's so close!

I used an EK Success border punch to make it look like a trellis.  The little roses are from Recollections.  I used a punch for the vine.  I cut the sentiment mats using Nestabilities dies except for the "I'd Pick You."  I used the SU! Word Window punch and the Modern Label punch.  The sentiments on the front came from the Cardz TV Stamps set "Think Spring."   On the inside I used my favorite EK Success corner punch.  The Happy Mother's Day was stamped using a stamp that I've had for a few years.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  I would really love to hear from you.  Hope you all are having a beautiful day.

Lots of Hugs,
Laura
