Box Top Fold Card

I'm not sure of the real name of this type of fold so I named mine a Box Top Fold.  It reminds me of how you fold the top of a box when you store things in it and need to get in it a lot.  Anyway, here it is.  The idea came from Stampin' Up.

The hearts are from a Stampin' Up punch.  For the sentiments, I used two different stamp sets from Cardz TV Stamps.  The Love Me is from the Barks and Bones set, and the Kiss Me is from the Hugs and Kisses set.  I just love Mary's stamps!  I used a new Martha Stewart border punch for the bottom.

Thanks for stopping by.  I would love to hear from you.  Have a great day!

Cardz TV Design Team Challenge # 4 Card #2

Hello my friends!  This is my 2nd card for the Cardz TV Design Team Challenge #4.  For this card I used the You're TEE-rific stamp from the Cardz TV Stamps set "It's A Guy Thing".  This is a great stamp set.  Everyone knows how hard it is to come up with masculine cards.  But with this stamp set, it helps you come up with great ideas for cards.  I love it!

This card is a 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 card base.   The mat was cut at 4 x 5 1/4.   I cut the golfer at 3 inches as well as all of the layers, and the flag and the golf bag from the Every Day Paper Dolls cartridge.  Where the metal part of the clubs, I used a silver marker to make them look like metal.

I hope you join us for the challenge.  Mary over at Cardz TV is giving away a set of stamps to the winner!  Just make a masculine card or scrapbook page or other project and enter it on her blog page.  You have until midnight Sunday January 29th to enter.  She will be using Random.org to pick a winner.  So please join us in the fun!  Thanks so much for stopping by and please leave me a comment because I LOVE hearing from you!  Hope you are having an awesome weekend.

Valentine Lollipop Holders

I was working on these last night.  It's raining and there are lots of clouds outside so the lighting is not very good for these photos so I apologize.   My daughter's birthday is next month on the 12th.  We always have a family party so I want to make one for all of the girls and ladies at the party.  They are really simple to make.  It's a good thing too because I have a lot to make!  I used George and Basic Shapes to cut the flowers.  I cut them out at 2 3/4 inches.  You need two of them for 1 lollipop.  I cut out one of the petals to make the center.  I glued the two end petals together with hot glue.  Next I snipped off the end and stuck the lollipop in.  You will probably need to play with it to get it to fit and twist it to fit up to the bottom of the lolli.  For the second I cut a hole in the middle.  I used hot glue to glue the center flower to the second flower.  I put half of a small styrofoam ball in the bottom and added shredded paper that I found at Walmart for $1.00.  The papers for the two flowers on the ends are from this year's K & Company Valentine Stack, the white one in the middle's paper came from a Recollections pack for this year.  The ribbon came from Michaels as well as the little dimensional stickers on the pots. Hope you all are having a good weekend.  Where I am at it has been raining and raining and raining.  I would love to hear from you so please leave me a comment.  Thanks for stopping by.

Valentine Gum Holders

Here are some Valentine gum holders I have been working on.  My daughter asked me last night after seeing how they turned out to make them for her friends in her class.  I said "we" can do that.  I saw this idea on the internet but there were no dimensions given.  So I decided to come up with my own recipe.  I used Freedent gum and left the white paper wraps on them.  I added little punched out cardstock from Studio G mini punches I bought at Walmart for .97 each.  The paper I used on the one on the far right came from a cute paper pack from Recollections I found at Michaels.  I hand wrote the Be Mine on the one on the left.  For the others I used stamps from my stash.  I used a scallop punch and a heart punch.  And of course I went around the edges with a white gel pen.  These are super quick to make.  The colored card stock base was cut at
1 1/4 in. x 4 in. Thanks for stopping by, and I would love to hear from you!

Thinking Of You

http://youtu.be/HuxO_mTIlPk  Click here for a clip of the segment.

A local news broadcaster here in Utah was doing a health segment about Breast Cancer Awareness.  She went into have a mammogram done in the segment.  The results came back and sadly it was malignant.  She went in last month for a lumpectomy and removal of two lymph nodes.  The good news is that it hasn't spread.  She will have to undergo chemotherapy and radiation.  I have watched her for years on the news and she is a very strong woman.  When I saw this segment yesterday I cried.  So I had to make this for her and I'm going to send it to the news station.  This segment saved her life.  This serves as a reminder to all of us women to get checked.  A few minutes of discomfort can save your life.  My prayers are with her and her family and all those women who are currently fighting this terrible cancer, and anyone who is currently fighting any form of cancer.  Stay strong!  Have faith in God.

Lots Of Hugs,
Laura
