Screen Card

Hello my crafty friends!  I hope you are staying cool.  Here around the castle it is waaay too hot!  I remember my grandmother had a dressing screen.  When a friend showed me this card, I knew I had to make one.  (RECIPE BELOW) I made this for my mom and her favorite color is purple.  I used a Martha Stewart punch on the top, and punch that I've had for a long time on the bottom.  If you have the SU! curly label punch this will work as well.  I used it on the bottom to create the legs of each panel.  The paper is from the Journeys stack from Kathy Davis.  I recently picked it up at Joann's for 60% off.  Love those kinds of deals.  I used a dragonfly punch and a flourish punch by EK Success.  The bling is from my stash.  For the sentiments I used the Cardz TV Stamps set "Heart to Heart."

To make this card, take a piece of 8 1/2 x 11 colored cardstock.  With the 11 inch side at the top of your scoring board score at:  2 3/4, 5 1/2, 8 1/4.  Fold in half then fold (mountain) and the panels in(valley.)  I cut it down to about
6 x 11 inches after I used the Martha Stewart border punch.  Depending on how big of a border punch you use, you can adjust how long you want it to be.  So what do you think????  I love how it turned out and more importantly so did my mother.  I love to give her cards to let her know how much I love her.

Thanks so much for stopping by and I would really love to hear from you!  Have a great day!

Lots of Hugs,

Have a Beary Happy Birthday!

Happy Friday my crafty friends!  If you are looking for my Cardz TV "Love In a Jar" challenge CLICK HERE.  I made this card for a friend of mine for her birthday.  A friend of mine shared the directions for this card.  It has a pocket on the inside and outside.

I used the Cardz TV Stamps set called "Beary Sweet."  This goes perfectly with the Teddy Bear Parade cartridge.  The teddy bear and layers were cut at 3 inches.  I used the Polka Dots Cuttlebug folder on the balloons, and a Sizzix folder on the hat.  I used a small punch for the flower on the bear's shirt.  The papers are from my stash.  I know the yellow and cupcake paper are from a 6 x 6 mat stack by Kathy Davis called Hello Sunshine!  I found it at Joanns for 60% off.  I just love those kinds of deals.

Thanks so much for stopping by, and I would love to hear from you!  Have a great weekend!

Lots of Hugs,

"Love In a Jar" Cardz TV Design Team Challenge #31

Happy Friday my crafty friends!  Today starts a new challenge over at Cardz TV.  Mary gave our DT a challenge to make a card, layout, or craft project using something you would put in a jar.  I remember going to my dad's office when I was little, and the secretary had treats in a jar.  So I pulled out Mary's awesome new Cardz TV  stamp set called "Love In a Jar."

I stamped the large jar and fussy cut around it.  I took a 3 inch scallop punch and cut out a topper for the jar.  I punched an oval out of the center.  In between the two jars is a holder for the nuggets.  It is a 1 1/2 x 4 1/2 piece of cardstock that was scored and folded.  On the 1 1/2 inch side it was scored at 1/4, and 1 1/4.  On the 4 1/2 in side it was scored at 1 1/2, 3.  Cut the small middle scorelines up to the intersection.  I put sticky tape on the long sides and bottom flap and adhered it to the back side of the punched jar.  I used paper from a 6 x 6 paper pad from Doodlebug Design Inc. called Fruit Stand.  I used the Word Window punch from Stampin' Up, and added twine on top.  What do you think?

Now it's your turn to make a card, layout, or craft project using something you would put in a jar.  It's okay if you don't have this set.  But it's a really cute set to add to your collection.  I can't wait to see what you create.  You have until June 27, 2013 to enter your project.  Mary will be giving away a set of her stamps to the winner!   I hope you check out the other Design Team ladies' blogs for more inspiration.

Thanks so much for stopping by, and I would really "Love" to hear from you!  Have a great weekend!

Lots of Hugs,

Gift Card Holder

Hello my crafty friends!  If you are looking for my CTV DT Father's Day Challenge CLICK HERE.  I made a gift card holder for my friend's daughter.  She lives in Washington and our daughters always send birthday presents.  I had some birthday paper in my stash that I used.  I embossed the two panels with the D'vine Swirls and Swiss Dots folders.

For the sentiments I used the Cardz TV Stamps sets "Make A Wish", and "Good Times".  Tucked inside is a Michaels gift card.

Thanks so much for stopping by, and I hope you have a very crafty day!  I hope to hear from you!

Lots of Hugs,
Laura
